Trojans Stay Unbeaten In CVAC Play

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Michael Zion scored one goal and assisted on two goals to lead Anderson College to a 4-0 victory over St. Andrews Presbyterian College in a CVAC match Saturday afternoon at Smethers Field. Anderson, 4-4 overall and 3-0 in the CVAC, scored three goals in the first half and one goal in the second half on its way to its first shutout of the season. The Trojans have won three straight matches and four of their last five. Zion opened the scoring off an assist from Peter Miele. Zion assisted on the next two goals -- the first by Tolu Popoola and the second by Lahnden Onger -- as the Trojans took a 3-0 lead at the half. Popoola's goal was his seventh of the season. Anderson's lone goal in the second half was scored by Clint Gillis off an assist from Josh Pittman. Anderson goalkeeper Jack Ward made three saves to record his first shutout of the season.
