Trojans Dancing; Earn No. 8 Seed in the NCAA Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The Anderson University women's basketball team earned its fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament and twelfth overall appearance after receiving an at-large bid as they earned the No. 8 seed and will square off with the No. 1 seed and host Carson-Newman on Friday, announced by the committee on Sunday evening.

The South Atlantic Conference is well represented in the region, as Wingate earned the No. 2 seed. The Bulldogs had an outstanding regular season and will face Peach Belt Conference opponent No. 7 Columbus St.

PBC tournament champion, North Georgia earned the No. 3 seed and will square off against No. 6 seed and Conference Carolinas tournament champion Barton while PBC member Lander took the No. 4 seed and will matchup with No. 5 Limestone in the opening round.

Every game of the Southeast Regional will be played at Carson-Newman's Holt Fieldhouse, as the Eagles earned the No. 1 seed after claiming the SAC Tournament this past weekend. The Eagles enter the tournament ranked No. 7 nationally and boasts a 29-2 overall record.

Last season, Anderson was tabbed the No. 8 seed losing to the top-seeded Columbus State Cougars, 73-62, in the opening round. Overall, the berth into the NCAA Tournament is the twelfth trip in program history with the Trojans looking to improve on their 9-11 all-time record in the annual tournament.
