Women’s Basketball Cruise Over Georgia College; 79-47

WINGATE, N.C. – The Anderson University women's basketball team wrapped up the SAC/PBC Challenge with a, 79-47, victory over Peach Belt Conference opponent Georgia College Saturday afternoon at Cuddy Arena.

With the win, Anderson moves to 2-0 on the season while the Bobcats fall to drop to 0-2.

The Trojans placed three players in double-digits with sophomore Alexy Mollenhauer and forward Alexis Dillard sharing game-high honors with 15 points apiece. Mollenhauer grabbed nine boards while recording two blocks for the Black and Gold. Dillard ripped down eight rebounds while adding three blocks to her all-time career block record at AU (146). Junior Ace Easter contributed 10 points while dishing out three assists and recording three steals in 25 minutes of action.

Capping off the Trojans' scoring was sophomore Cassis Ketchum added six points on two made 3-point baskets. A host of Trojans chipped in five points, seniors Kaylee Koerperich and Jasmine Raynor, junior Erika Martin and sophomores Hannah Hodges and Madison Baggett. Baggett also pulled down seven rebounds while dishing out two assists and being credited with a block and a steal. Freshman Alexis Tate netted four points while sophomore Makayla Green and freshman Taylor Hair dropped in a bucket apiece for Anderson.

Georgia College placed one player in double-figures with reserve Brianna Davis collecting 10 points for the Bobcats. Forward Alyah McGriff pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds while chipping in eight points.

The Trojans never trailed the Bobcats enjoying it largest lead of the game, 77-39, on a made jumper by Tate at the 2:58 mark in the fourth quarter.

Head Coach Jonathon Barbaree's Thoughts: "Extremely proud of our team this entire weekend and I really liked our team chemistry. Most of our turnovers were happening because we were trying to share the ball with each other."

"We didn't shoot the ball very well today, but we were able to score some second chance points with 20 offensive rebounds."

"We are looking forward to playing in front of our home crowd on Wednesday."

Anderson will open its home regular season slate on Wednesday when it hosts Conference Carolinas opponent Southern Wesleyan. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. in the Abney Athletic Center.
