Trojans Eighth in Second Week of the NCAA Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA released its second regional rankings Wednesday afternoon with Anderson University slipping to the No. 8 slot.

The selection committee uses these rankings as a guideline to make up the NCAA Tournament field. The top eight teams in the region make the NCAA Tournament with three automatic bids going to the winners of the conference tournaments from the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas and the Peach Belt Conference.

Fellow SAC member Carson-Newman and Wingate hold the first two spots, respectively while PBC member Lander and North Georgia land in the third and fourth slots. Limestone claims the highest CC position by landing fifth with fellow CC member Barton sitting in the sixth position. Flagler holds the seventh position with Anderson, Columbus State and Tusculum rounding out the top-10

The final regional poll prior to the selection show will be released in the afternoon on Feb. 28.
