Balanced Scoring Lifts Anderson over Queens; 79-62

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Anderson University women's basketball team completed the season sweep over South Atlantic Conference opponent Queens, 79-62, on Saturday afternoon at the LeVine Center.

With the victory, Anderson improves to 13-7 overall and 7-5 in conference action while Queens fall to 4-15 overall and 1-12 SAC play.

Anderson placed four players in double-figures with graduate student Alexis Dillard recording her seventh double-double of the season. Dillard scored 15 points while ripping down 14 rebounds. Junior Erika Martin shared team-high honors scoring a career tying 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Junior Ace Easter played a complete game dropping in 14 points while dishing out a career high seven assists. Easter also recorded three rebounds, three steals and one blocked shot. Sophomore Alexy Mollenhauer chipped in 12 points hitting 2-of-3 3-point baskets.

Capping off the scoring for the Trojans was sophomore Madison Baggett with eight points. Baggett also ripped down eight rebounds, dished out three assists, recorded two block shots while accumulating three steals. Senior Kaylee Koerperich netted seven points in 14 minutes of action. Sophomore Cassie Ketchum chipped in six points while Taylor Hair dropped in a bucket for the Black and Gold.

Queens used a late 6-0 run in the first period to claim a 20-16 lead with Anderson countering back with a 5-0 run to start the second frame.

The Trojans were able to take the lead for good on a made 3-point basket by Mollenhauer at the 3:21 mark of the second period.

Anderson led by as many as 13 in the third quarter with Queens cutting the lead to seven with the fourth to play.

The Trojans remained focused building their lead to 15 at the six-minute mark of the fourth period on a jumper by Martin. Queens made one last push cutting the lead to nine with 2:50 to play. However, the Black and Gold scored the remaining eight points of the game to claim the, 79-62, victory.

-Anderson has won seven straight over the Royals.
-AU's Dillard became the 13th Anderson player to reach the 1000 point milestone (1,012 points).
-The Trojans outrebounded the Royals 46-27.
-The Black and Gold are 8-3 overall on games played on Saturday.
