Trojans Roll Past Auburn Montgomery; 74-43

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Using long-range accuracy and stingy defense, the Anderson University women's basketball team outpaced Auburn Montgomery, 74-43, Saturday afternoon at the AUM Gymnasium.

With the win, Anderson moves to 9-4 overall winning its first ever meeting between the two programs. The setback drops Auburn Montgomery to 6-5 on the season.

Trailing, 7-4, early in the first quarter, the Trojans reeled off 16 unanswered points over the next seven minutes to give the Black and Gold a 20-9 lead. Guards Cassie Ketchum, Madison Baggett and Ace Easter sparked the outburst, collectively draining four 3-point baskets in a 2- minute span.

The Trojans were 7-11 (63.6%) from beyond the arc after two periods of play finishing the game 10-23 (43.5%). Five different Trojans hit at least one 3-point basket with Ketchum and Alexy Mollenhauer each claiming three.

Mollenhauer scored a team-high 15 points in just 18 minutes of action with junior Ace Easter dropping in 12 points while chasing down seven rebounds for the Trojans. Ketchum chipped in 11 points shooting 3-of-4 from behind the arc with junior Erika Martin netting 10 points while pulling down five rebounds. Graduate student Alexis Dillard ripped down 10 rebounds while Baggett dished out a season-high 10 assists.

Auburn Montgomery placed one player in double-figure scoring with Evelina Avleeva scoring a game-high 17 points.

Anderson held the Warhawks to 16-of-64 (25%) from the floor and 3-of-22 (13.6%) from behind the arc.

-The 65 total rebounds by the Trojans eclipses their previous season-high of 61 against Southern Wesleyan back in November.
-Auburn Montgomery made its first free-throw of the game at the 2:00 mark of the third quarter.
-Anderson's Dillard has pulled down at least 10 rebounds in five of the last six games.
-The Trojans 10 made 3-point baskets were the most of the season.
-13 of the 14 AU player's recorded at least 2 rebounds or more.
