MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- Shauna Cowdrey scattered five hits in 6 1/3 innings and Mount Olive scored four unearned runs off six Anderson errors to take the second game 7-1 and sweep the Lady Trojans in a CVAC doubleheader Saturday afternoon. In the first game, Mount Olive built a 6-0 lead through five innings and went on to post a 6-2 victory. Anderson's lone run in the second game was a solo home run by Kayla Thrasher in the second. Jenny Jackson and Tiffanie Pittman led Mount Olive's offense in the second game. Jackson was 3-for-4, while Pittman was 2-for-4 with two RBI. In the first game, Anderson's two runs came on a two-run homer by Kayla Williams in the sixth. Meredith Knox had two of Anderson's five hits in the first game. Anderson is now 16-9 overall and 8-4 in the CVAC. The Lady Trojans travel to Barton on Sunday. Anderson University Softball Season Statistics
