ORANGEBURG, S.C. -- The Anderson University softball beat Claflin 14-3 and 18-4 Saturday afternoon in two games shortened by the eight-run rule. In the first game, Meredith Knox was 2-for-2 with two doubles and Stephanie Griffis provided a three-run double to lead Anderson. Anderson finished the first game with 13 hits. Ashley Rogers struck out six to pick up the victory in the circle for AU in the first game. In the second game, Kayla Thrasher and Kayla Williams both were 4-for-4 to lead Anderson's 17-hit attack. Thrasher had two singles, a triple, and a home run; while Williams had a single, two doubles, and a home run. Stephanie Griffis struck out five in four innings to pick up the victory.
