CENTRAL, S.C. -- Katie Van Gieson pitched a four-hitter to lead Anderson University to a 1-0 victory over Southern Wesleyan Wednesday afternoon. A single by Kasey King and a throwing error produced the lone run of the game in the fifth inning. Anderson scored three runs in the top of the seventh, but the game was rained out before the inning could be completed. The second game was rained out. The victory was Anderson's fifth straight. The Lady Trojans are now 8-5 overall. Anderson opens CVAC play Saturday at Coker.
