More School Records Fall as Track and Field Wraps up Competition at Clemson’s Bob Pollock Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. - After setting one new school record 24 hours earlier, the Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams completed action at Clemson's Bob Pollock Invitational with a pair of additional record-setting efforts Saturday at the Tigers' Indoor Facility.

Freshman Mason Hazel added to his first-place finish in Friday's 5000 meter run with a school record-setting time of 4:22.27 in a seventh-place finish in the men's mile run on Saturday. The combination of freshmen Rashod Monts, Caleb Stephenson, Christopher Burton and sophomore Eric Hoover took eighth in the men's seeded 4x400 meter relay with a school-record time of 3:31.73.

Senior Joshua Visi-Clark posted a season-best time of 2:01.09 in the 800 meter run, as he finished seventh, while Burton garnered seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 13.99 meters.

Sophomores Jesse Patrick (9:37.45) and Ben Boerma (9:49.60) captured 10th and 11th, respectively, in the seeded 3000 meter run, with freshman Anthony Aleruchi garnering 12th in the shot put with a toss of 11.04 meters.

Sophomore Olivia Gardner brought home 10th place in the women's seeded 3000 meter run in a time of 10:46.93, while junior D'Yandra Morris posted a season-best distance in the shot put with a toss of 11.23 meters.

Senior Sydney Hazel (5:29.29) and freshman Haylee Love (5:36.27) finished 12th and 18th, respectively in the women's one mile seeded run, with junior Brooklyn Watkins capturing 24th in the triple jump with a distance of 8.83 meters.

Next up for the Trojans is the Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational, hosted by East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn. on Feb 6-7.
