KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Freshman Kate Hill carded a two-day 7-over-par 151 to lead the Anderson women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Barton Invitational, Sunday at the Kiawah Island Resort's Oak Point course.

Armstrong State won the event by five shots over Limestone after being even with the Saints following Saturday's opening round. Florida Southern jumped past Anderson into third by trimming 16 shots off its team score, with the Trojans shaving 10 strokes from Monday's round and holding onto fourth place, four shots ahead of fifth-place Wingate. Queens remained sixth, while UNC Pembroke fell from a tie for third into a three-way tie for seventh, alongside Converse and Carson-Newman.

Lenoir-Rhyne claimed 10th place, with Tusculum, Lincoln Memorial, the host Bulldogs, Catawba, Belmont Abbey, Chowan and Newberry rounding out the 17-team field.

Armstrong's Sophie Bargeron (76-72=148) claimed individual medalist honors by two shots over Limestone's Hailey Cleary (77-73=150) who moved into second from a share of fifth. Hill was three shots behind Bargeron, along with Converse's Ansley Vaughan and Florida Sothern's Shannon McKew.

Hill (78-73=151) vaulted from a share of ninth place following Saturday's opening round into the three-way tie for third by slashing six strokes off her first-round score. Sophomore Makalyn Poole (75-80=155) slipped into 12th place, while fellow sophomore Tiffany Elam (86-77=163) posted the largest improvement of the Trojan contingent by carving nine strokes from her opening round and jumped from share of 51st into a tie for 37th on Sunday.

Sophomore Blake Hodges (85-82=167) and junior Riley Lovorn (84-83=167) each finished in a seven-way tie for 50th.

Following a two-week break, the Trojans will get back on the links at the Converse College Spring Invitational.
