ANDERSON, S.C. – Following a successful fall campaign, the Anderson women's golf team is set to open its spring season this weekend at the Barton Invitational, which will be hosted by the Bulldogs at the Kiawah Island Resort's Oak Point course.

Near the conclusion of the fall season, the Trojans were ranked 56th nationally by Golfstat, which slotted them in the middle of the 10 conference squads that were ranked, at fifth. The Trojan women posted a third-place, two fifth-place finishes and a sixth-place finish in the fall, with freshman Kate Hill pacing the team with a 76.75 stroke average in the four events. The Clemson, S.C., native notched the low-round of the season with an opening-round 72 at the Illinois-Springfield Getaway en route to a third-place finish in Puerto Rico.

Sophomore Tiffany Elam earned All-Tournament honors at the AU Invitational last September after posting a fifth-place finish with a two-round 157. She wrapped up the fall with a 77.5 stroke average in four tourneys. Classmate Makalyn Poole posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the fall, while recording an 80.25 stroke average. A native of Williamston, S.C., Poole shared sixth place at the AU Invitational and tied for ninth at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.
