Women’s Golf Sixth at Conference Championships

CONOVER, N.C. - Led by junior Kalyn Johnson's 36-hole 18-over par 160, the Anderson women's golf team sits in sixth place following the first day's action at the 2011 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Women's Golf Tournament, hosted by Wingate University at the par 71, 5,857 yard layout at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa.

Newberry College leads after day one with a two-round total of 634. Wingate is five shots back, while Lincoln Memorial is third.

Johnson's (76-84=160) effort left her in a three-way tie for 11th, while sophomore Lindsay Parks (85-80=165) is tied for 24th following her two-round score. Junior Laura Buyers (81-86=167) is 28th and SAC Freshman of the Year Katie Eskew (84-84=168) sits in 30th. Senior Hayley Parks rounded out the AU scoring with a two-round total 171 to hold 37th.

The final round will take place Tuesday.
