GREENWOOD, S.C. - After trailing Erskine by one stroke following Thursday's opening round in their head-to-head dual competition, the Anderson women's golf team found the range and rallied to win the event by a comfortable 21 shots on Friday at the par 72, 5,975-yard Cobb's Glen Golf Course.
The Trojans trimmed 16 shots from Thursday's round and posted a final-round 323, while Erskine shot a second-round 345.
Anderson junior Kalyn Johnson (80-77=157) rallied from one shot off the pace following Thursday's first round to win individual honors by four shots, while teammates Katie Eskew (84-81=165), Laura Buyers (87-80=167) and Lindsay Parks (88-90=178) finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, with Buyers notching the biggest overall improvement from the opening round. Hayley Parks (90-85=175) shaved five shots from Thursday to move up three spots, finishing sixth overall.
With the win, the Trojans claimed the prestigious Beville Cup
for the second consecutive year and the fourth in the last
five.
