St. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. - Freshman Katie Eskew's seven-over par 79 led the Anderson University women's golf team as the Trojans sit in 14th place following first-round action at the Flagler Fall Slam hosted by Flagler College at the 6,062 yard par-72 Marsh Creek Country Club.
Eskew is in a six-way tie for the 12th spot, while sophomore Lindsay Parks fired an opening-round 86 and sits in a tie for 50th. Juniors Laura Buyers and Kalyn Johnson each posted an 87 and share 56th. Senior Hayley Parks rounded out the Trojan contingent with an opening-round 90 and finished Monday's round tied with two others in 75th.
Barry and Saint Leo hold a five-stroke lead over Newberry, with Saint Leo's Heather Petronis holding the individual lead with an 18-hole round of even-par 72.
The tournament concludes on Tuesday.
