GREENWOOD, S.C. - In a unique head-to-head dual competition, the Anderson women's golf team trails rival Erskine by one shot after day one of the event co-hosted by both teams at the par 72, 5,823-yard Hunter's Creek Golf and Country Club.
As a team, the Trojans carded an opening-round 339, while the Flying Fleet posted a 338.
Anderson junior Kalyn Johnson was one shot off the individual lead with an eight-over par 80, while freshman Katie Eskew posted a first-round 84 and is in fourth overall. Junior Laura Buyers is fifth after shooting an 87 and Lindsay Parks rounded out the scoring for the Trojans with an 88.
The Trojans will host the final round Friday at Cobb's Glen,
with a shotgun start at 3 p.m.
