Trojan Women’s Golf Finishes Tied for Eighth at Agnes McAmis Invitational

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Senior Hayley Parks carded a two-day total 12-over par 156 to claim 10th as the Anderson University women's golf team finished in a three-way tie for eighth at the 14th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Women's Golf Invitational.

The event, hosted by Tusculum College at Link Hills Country Club on a 5,832-yard, par 72 layout, saw Monday's opening round halted due to inclement weather and darkness. The Trojans were among those teams that wrapped up their first round early Tuesday, then hit the links for their final round.

Belmont-Abbey (299-301=600) claimed the team-title by a comfortable 29 strokes over runner-up Carson-Newman (314-315=629), as the Crusaders won the tournament for a third time. Methodist University (315-317=632), the defending McAmis Memorial Champion, finished third.

Parks (79-77=156) was one of only two players in the top 10 finishers to improve over their opening-round score, while freshman Katie Eskew (78-84=162) and Kalyn Johnson (82-80=162) each posted an a two-day total 18-over par 162 to share 31st place. Junior Laura Buyers (76-90=166) finished in a tie for 46th and sophomore Lindsay Parks (89-91=180) shared a three-way tie for 72nd.

The Trojans get back on the links at the South Atlantic Conference Championship, hosted by Wingate next Monday and Tuesday at the Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Conover, N.C.
