Women’s Golf Sits in Fourth at Dana Rader Intercollegiate

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Senior Hayley Parks fired an opening-round eight-over par 79 and sits just one shot off the pace and the Anderson University women's golf team is fourth following opening-round action at the par 71, 5,830-yard Ballantyne Resort and Golf Club Monday afternoon.

Belmont Abbey College recorded a team round of 325 to lead at the long and wet course, while Pfeiffer's Angela Gimenez posted the low score of the day with a seven-over 78.

Anderson freshman Katie Eskew posted a first-round 82 and is just four strokes behind Gimenez, sharing 10th place. Junior Kalyn Johnson shares 17th after carding an 86, while junior Laura Buyers is tied for 24th after shooting an 89. Sophomore Lindsay Parks is tied for 43rd following her 95.

Round two, the tournament's final round, will begin on Tuesday morning as a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.
