CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Juniors Kalyn Johnson and Laura Buyers each posted two-round totals of 166 to lead the Anderson University women's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Dana Rader Intercollegiate at the par 71, 5,830-yard Ballantyne Resort and Golf Club Tuesday afternoon.
Belmont Abbey College improved 15 strokes off of Monday's first round 325 to claim the team title over second-place and host Pfeiffer University. The Crusader put up a 310 final round and were led by Michele Low, who took individual medalist honors with a 76 Tuesday for a 155 tournament total.
Buyers (89-77=166) trimmed eight strokes off Monday's opening round, while Johnson (86-80=166) shaved six shots off her first-round effort, as both Trojans wrapped up the event in a four-way tie for 11th.
Freshman Katie Eskew (82-86=168) finished two shots further back to share 16th along with Hayley Parks (79-89=168). Sophomore Lindsay Parks (95-93=188) improved by two strokes from Monday's first round to finish in a tie for 44th.
The Trojans take three weeks off before competing in Lincoln Memorial's Agnes McAmis Memorial in Greeneville, Tenn.
