ANDERSON, S.C. - With clear skies and temperatures in the low 90s across the Upstate,
the Tusculum Pioneers slipped four shots from their opening round, but held off Pfeiffer to win the Anderson Invitational Women's Golf Tournament by a comfortable seven strokes Tuesday afternoon at the par 72, 5,812 yard Anderson Country Club in Anderson.

Pioneer sophomore Jillian Corum (76-76=152) posted her second consecutive four-over 76 to claim the individual title by a single stroke past Lenoir-Rhyne's Katie Thackerson (78+75=153), who carded the best score of the afternoon. Thackerson entered the final round in a tie for second, two shots back with Pfeiffer's Steph Peareth.

Led by Kalyn Johnson and Lyndsay Parks, the host Trojans shaved 10 shots off their opening round and claimed a share of fourth, along with Lincoln Memorial. Johnson (87-80=167) moved from a tie for 20th following Monday's opening round to sole possession of 15th, while Parks jumped from a share of 34th to a tie for 25th with her two-day total of 174.

Freshman Katie Eskew (80-83=163) led the overall AU effort, finishing in a tie for seventh, while Laura Buyers (82-83=165) earned a share of 10th and Hayley Parks closed in a tie for 30th at 177.

Lenoir-Rhyne saw the biggest improvement from the opening round, trimming an impressive 17 strokes off Monday's round to jump from fifth to third.

Limestone, Erskine, North Greenville and St. Andrews Presbyterian rounded out the teams.
