KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Anderson University men's soccer standouts Shu Ogawa and Lukas Hesse have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Men's Soccer All-Southeast Region Team as recently announced by the organization.
The duo helped lead the Trojans on a late-season surge, as Anderson closed out the season by winning four straight matches, with Coach John Murphy's squad capturing its third consecutive South Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship.
Ogawa earned second-team honors after starting every match and earning First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference accolades for the second consecutive year. The defensive midfielder tied for third on the team in assists, while recording seven shots on the season, including three shots on goal. Ogawa also earned Second-Team All-Southeast Region accolades in 2010.
Hesse, who earned third-team honors, anchored a Trojan defense that recorded six shutouts in its final eight matches, including four straight to close out the campaign. The 6-foot-2 goalkeeper was named SAC Tournament MVP for the second consecutive year and also garnered Second-Team All-SAC accolades after playing all but 28 minutes of the season and recording 22 career shutouts.
