FLORENCE, S.C. - Anderson sophomore Mattias Schyberg notched his first collegiate goal, but Francis Marion posted a score in each half to outlast the Trojans men's soccer team, 2-1, Wednesday night at Hartzler Field.

Anderson slipped to 3-10-3 by dropping its final nonconference contest, while Francis Marion improved to 5-8-2 with its second straight victory.

The Patriots' Joergen Tesdal gave FMU a 1-0 lead with his first goal of the 2012 campaign after taking an assist from teammate Henrique Guitti in the 26th minute.

Francis Marion junior Cody Farrier boosted the Patriots' advantage to 2-0 at the 60:43 mark with his team-leading seventh goal of the season by capitalizing on fellow junior Simon Nett's assist.

Schyberg trimmed FMU's lead to one with his goal in the 87th minute, and the Trojans' Corbin Bowers and Will Treichler each fired shots in the final moments of the match but were unable to convert, as Francis Marion goalkeeper Logan Fisher recorded three of his four saves on the night in the final two minutes.

Fisher earned the win, while AU keeper Lukas Hesse also notched four saves but absorbed the loss.

Anderson out-shot Francis Marion, 16-9, and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Anderson concludes the regular season with a Homecoming Day matchup against Lenoir-Rhyne on Saturday, as both teams battle for position in next week's South Atlantic Conference Tournament. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Trojan Stadium.
