ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson men's soccer team wrapped up the regular season with a 2-0 shutout of visiting Lenoir-Rhyne in South Atlantic Conference play Saturday afternoon at Trojan Stadium.

With the win, Anderson (4-10-3, 4-4-1 SAC) claimed at least the sixth seed in next week's conference tournament and could possibly earn the fifth seed.

Lenoir-Rhyne , which slipped to 6-6-4 overall and 3-4-2 in the league, has also earned a berth in the SAC Tournament, which begins on Tuesday. The pairings will be announced by the league office this weekend.

Sophomore defender Lars Zimmerman helped ensure that the Trojans enjoyed a successful senior day and Homecoming celebration by scoring in each half. The native of Malente, Germany, gave AU a quick 1-0 lead in the fifth minute with a goal from the right side of the box that found the upper corner of the net. Sophomore Tapiwa Munetsi tallied his second assist of the season.

Zimmerman headed in his team-leading seventh goal of the season at the 67:23 mark off a corner kick from teammate Zak Moss, as his attempt nestled in upper corner of the net.

The Bears held an 11-6 shot advantage, while AU claimed a 4-1 edge in corner kicks.

Anderson goalkeeper Lukas Hesse earned his fourth shutout victory of the season and his 15th career clean sheet, stopping five Lenoir-Rhyne shots on the afternoon.

Junior net-minder Stefan Dill absorbed the loss in goal, recording three saves for the Bears.
