ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson College athletic department held its annual honors night Tuesday at the Henderson Auditorium on the AC campus. National champion wrestler Careef Robertson and second-team All-American basketball player LaShonda Chiles both received the Ed Oxford Memorial Award, which is given annually to Anderson College's athlete of the year. Robertson's national title at 174 pounds was AC's first as a member of NCAA Division II, and Chiles led the Lady Trojans to the CVAC regular-season and tournament titles and a trip to the Sweet 16. She was the first AC basketball player to earn All-America honors, and she was the CVAC Player of the Year and the MVP of the CVAC Tournament. During the 2004-05, Anderson College won Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference team titles in women's basketball and men's tennis and finished third in the Hahn Cup, the league's overall sports trophy. In addition to the team awards, academic and All-CVAC awards were handed out.
