GAFFNEY, S.C. -- The Limestone College baseball team won their 11th consecutive game against conference opponents and completed a three-game CVAC series sweep of Anderson College with a 14-3 victory Sunday. With the win, Limestone improves to 18-10 overall and 10-2 in the CVAC to remain on top of the conference standings. Anderson fell to 11-17 overall and 2-6 in the conference. After Caleb Owen led the game off with a single and scored to put the Trojans up 1-0, the Saints answered with three runs in the bottom of the first. That inning was highlighted by a two-out RBI double from Richmond Lutz. Limestone added a run in the third on a sacrifice fly from Lutz, and put the game out of reach in the fourth. The Saints added four more runs in the sixth and a lone tally in the eighth to finish off the 14-3 win. Midgett capped an outstanding week by going 1-for-4 with an RBI and a two runs scored.
