AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State improved to 23-18 with a 10-1 victory over Anderson College Sunday afternoon at Jaguar Field. Jaguar freshman pitcher Justin Walker earned the win as he allowed no earned runs on four base hits in 7.2 innings, while striking out six for his team leading sixth victory of the year. Left fielder Jeff Macaione followed with a RBI sacrifice fly to give the Jaguars a 1-0 lead. First baseman Garrett McGrath added to the Jaguars lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two runners on McGrath drove an offering by Trojans' relief pitcher Joe Hall over the right field fence to extend the Jags lead to 5-0. The Jaguars cruised from there as they scored two runs in the sixth inning and four runs in the eighth inning, capped by right fielder Matt May's two run home run down the right field line completing the Jaguars 10-1 victory.
