Dow Named Coach Of The Year

THOMASVILLE, N.C. -- Jeff Dow of Anderson University has been named Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Coach of the year by the league's head coaches, the league office announced Friday morning. Dow, a native of Medford, Oregon, is 78-15 in three seasons at Anderson. During Dow's three years in Anderson, the Lady Trojans are 39-1 at home. This season, Dow led the Lady Trojans to a regular-season record of 25-2 overall and 19-1 in the conference. Anderson, 27-2 overall after two victories in the Conference Carolinas Tournament, enters Saturday's 4 p.m. tournament championship game at home against Mount Olive riding a 20-game winning streak. Anderson was ranked No. 12 in the Mar. 4 USA TODAY/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, its highest ranking ever in the national poll. Dow has led the Lady Trojans to two conference regular-season titles, one conference tournament title, and two trips to the NCAA Tournament. Anderson, ranked No. 3 in this week's East Region poll, expected to accept its third bid to the NCAA Tournament during Dow's tenure Sunday night. Dow is the 10th Anderson coach to earn league Coach of the Year honors. Dow's career record as a head coach at the Division I and Division II level is 111-64.
