Trojans Track and Field Wrap Up at Duke and UNCP

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson track and field teams split into two groups this weekend, competing at North Carolina A&T's Aggie Relays and the Duke Invitational. Day one of the Aggie Relays saw the Trojans capture three top-10 finishes, as Katelyn Rodgers posted a height of 1.55m in the high jump to place second, while Lauren Sloan finished sixth with a toss of 12.37m in the shot put. On the men's side, Zach Hart finished fourth in the pole vault at 4.35m and Will Byers collected a distance of 35.25m in the discus throw. Byars (13.05m), Jonah Adams (12.08m) and Derrike Black (11.44m) also finished 11th, 15th and 17th respectively in the shot put competition. Anderson's Whitney Bishoff blew away the competition at the Duke Invitational, as the Trojan standout ran 17:07.47 in the women's 5000m to capture first place, while Nigel Reynolds took home a ninth-place finish in the men's 1500m run. Results are not yet available for the second day of action at either event.
