Sloan Named Women's Field Athlete of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson sophomore Lauren Sloan has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women's Field Athlete of the Week during week number three in the 2010 outdoor season as announced by the conference office late Wednesday. The Reynoldsburg, Ohio, native helped the Trojan track and field team to a fourth-place finish at last weekend's Emory Classic, posting a first-place finish in the shot put with a distance of 11.36m, a second-place finish in the hammer throw with 36.89 meters and garnered third place with a toss of 29.80m in the javelin throw. "Lauren has been a very solid performer and is starting to hit her stride at the right time of year," Anderson head coach Randy Greer said. "I am looking for her to have a another stellar conference championships in a couple of weeks." Anderson will be competing at two separate events this weekend, at both the Duke Invitational and also at North Carolina A&T.
