Men’s Soccer Ranked Second in the Southeast Region by the NCAA

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - In the first weekly regional ranking of the season by the NCAA Division II Championship committee, the Anderson University men's soccer team is ranked second, as released by the NCAA Wednesday afternoon.

The Trojans (12-2, 7-0 SAC), who have won a school-record 10 straight matches and are 14-1 at home since opening play at Trojan Stadium last season, were ranked 10th in the nation and second in the region by the NSCAA on Tuesday.

The NCAA rankings, which will be published weekly until the end of the season, are used to determine seeding in the NCAA Tournament. The Southeast Region, comprised of the South Atlantic Conference, Conference Carolinas and the Peach Belt Conference, will garner six spots in the Big Dance.

The Trojans, who fell just shy in their bid for the Elite Eight last season, are looking for third consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Anderson opens a two-match road swing at Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. The Railsplitters are tied with Tusculum in second place in the SAC standings, each with just one conference loss. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Harrogate, Tenn.
