Men’s Soccer Moves Up to 21st in the Nation in NSCAA Poll

ANDERSON, S.C. - As the Anderson University men's soccer team continues to earn wins, the Trojans continue to earn recognition for their achievements on the field, as AU moved up four spots from a week ago and are ranked 21st in the nation in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire Regional Rankings released on Tuesday.

Anderson (7-2, 3-0 SAC) was No. 25 last week and remained No. 3 in the Southeast Region on Tuesday.

The Trojans have won five consecutive matches and seven of their last eight and will be trying to extend its win streak at Peach Belt-foe Lander on Wednesday.

AU's potent offense ranks fourth nationally, averaging more than three goals per contest and is seventh in the nation in total goals, with 28 on the season.

Individually, senior forward Lasse Sohrweide is tied for second in the nation in total assists and assists per game, is tied for third in total points and fourth in points per game. He is tied for ninth nationally in goals per contest and total goals.

The Trojans remain the lone South Atlantic Conference team in the national rankings, while fellow SAC member Mars Hill checked in at No. 4 in Tuesday's regional poll.
