Sohrweide Named Men’s Soccer Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Anderson University standout forward Lasse Sohrweide has been named the South Atlantic Conference's men's soccer Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

Sohrweide is tied for first in the nation in total assists and assists per game, second in points per game and is tied for third in total points. He is tied for sixth nationally in goals per contest and ranks seventh in total goals.

Sohrweide contributed directly to all six of Anderson's goals last week, scoring three goals and handing out assists on the other three for nine total points, helping lead AU to a perfect 2-0 record on the week.

The 6-0 senior notched the game-winning goal - his first of the season - in the in the 30th minute of the 3-0 shutout win past Francis Marion, and added assists on the remaining two scores.

A native of Flensburg, Germany, Sohrweide followed up with two goals, including the game-winner, and an assist in the 3-1conference win past Carson-Newman. He recorded the assist that gave AU a 1-0 first-half lead, then scored a pair of goals in a two-minute span to secure the Trojans' tenth consecutive win at home.

Sohrweide's two game-winners boosted his career total to 16 and he leads the team in goals (8), assists (7) and points (23) on the season.
