SALISBURY, N.C. - Anderson University freshman forward Tapiwa Munetsi scored late in each half to help lift the 25th-ranked Anderson men's soccer team past Catawba, 3-0, in South Atlantic action Saturday afternoon at Frock Field.

Anderson (7-2, 3-0 SAC) opened a four-match road swing by winning its fifth straight contest and seven of its last eight, while claiming its first true road contest of the season en route to handing Catawba (3-7, 0-3 SAC) its third consecutive setback.

Munetsi entered the contest midway through the first half and gave Anderson the advantage in the 40th minute by sending a lingering ball into the Catawba box past Indian keeper Evan Harvey. Anderson senior forward Lasse Sohrweide recorded his team-leading eighth assist of the season on the score.

Anderson wasted little time adding to its lead in the second stanza as Daniel Bowers connected on a header from seven yards away at the 47:02 mark to make it 2-0. Munetsi added another score in the 84th minute on a breakaway from 12 yards out to put the match out of reach.

The Trojans notched their second consecutive shutout and fourth of the season, while outshooting Catawba 14-5 on the afternoon, while also holding a 7-1 edge in shots on goal. AU also held a 10-5 advantage in corner kicks. Lukas Hesse earned the win for Anderson, garnering a save on the afternoon.

Anderson will get back on the pitch Wednesday, Oct. 5, when the Trojans visit Lander for a non-conference matchup, slated for a 5 p.m. kick-off.
