AC Men Travel To Lees-McRae For CVAC Tournament

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson College men's soccer team will open play in the 2003 CVAC Tournament Wednesday at No. 2 seed Lees-McRae. The winner will advance to Saturday's semi-final round at Belmont Abbey where they will face the winner of Pfeiffer-Barton match. In the other half of the bracket, top-seeded Queens plays Mount Olive and No. 4 seed Belmont Abbey faces No. 5 St. Andrews. Anderson, 3-12-3 overall during the regular season, beat Lees-McRae 2-0 on Oct. 25. Michael Zion scored both of AC's goals in the upset of the Bobcats. "This season has not gone like we wanted it to, but the guys have continued to work hard and they have never quit," said AC head coach Rob Miller. "We will go to Lees-McRae and give a good effort." Lees-McRae enters the 7 p.m. match with a record of 12-6.
