Mount Olive Rallies To Tie AC

MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -- Anderson College jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 33 minutes of the match, but Mount Olive came storming back with two goals in the second half and the two teams battled to a 2-2 in a CVAC match Monday afternoon. Anderson, 1-10-2 overall and 1-3-2 in the CVAC, has played five overtime matches this season. Three of AC's last four matches have gone to overtime. AC is now 1-2-2 in overtime this season. Michael Zion scored on a header off a corner kick by Wrenel Roberts to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead at the 25:00 mark. Eight minutes later, Trey Aull took a pass from Jody Forno and scored from 18 yards out to increase the AC lead to 2-0. Mount Olive, 4-5-4 and 22-3, scored its two goals in a two-minute span late in the match. Brandon Mills scored at 75:27 and Cory Worrell scored at 77:07.
