North Greenville Hangs On To Beat AC, 2-1

ANDERSON, S.C. -- North Greenville scored two goals in the first half and held on for a 2-1 victory over Anderson College in a non-conference match Saturday night at Smethers Field. Tyler Pegues opened the scored for North Greenville just six minutes into the match when he scored off a rebound. With 3:30 left in the first half, Chad Denson scored for 18 yards out to give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead. Anderson's lone goal by Kyle Rampey came with five minutes remaining in the match. AC outshot North Greenville, 21-5 and had 15 corner kicks, but the Trojans couldn't find the net. North Greenville goalkeeper Daniel Eskew made five saves. AC is now 0-3 on the season. The Trojans play host to Newberry Tuesday night.
