ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University senior Jessica Neadow and junior Reece Coleman have been named the Jimmy John's Female and Male Athletes of the Week.
Neadow was instrumental in helping the Trojans to a perfect 4-0 record last weekend. Overall, the Lawrenceville, Ga., native averaged a .583 batting average, going 7-of-12 from the plate with a 1.417 slugging percentage, six RBI, six runs scored, a double and three home runs.
The senior leadoff hitter opened each game with either a home run or a walk to set the momentum for the rest of the team. For the four games played, Anderson outscored its opponents 37-13. Neadow also ripped a walk-off single to help the Trojans defeat USC Aiken, 4-3, to keeps Anderson's 15-game win streak intact.
Coleman a men's golfer from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Golfer of the Week eight days ago, after carding a three-round, 3-under-par 213 and finishing as runner-up at the Lincoln Memorial Kick-off Intercollegiate, Feb. 14-15.
He helped lead AU to a fourth-place finish in a field that included nine top-25 teams, with the Trojans outpacing 14th-ranked Limestone, 17th-ranked Belmont Abbey, No. 19 Erskine, No. 21 Lander and 25th-ranked Barton.
Coleman finished just four strokes off the pace after matching his season-best with a 5-under-par 67 during the final round.
