Murray and Assuncao Earn All-Conference Honors

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Stefane Murray and Renato Assuncao helped the lift the Anderson men's tennis team to as high as No. 22 in the nation this season, and the duo was rewarded by being named to the Conference Carolinas' all-conference team, as announced by the league office late Thursday. Murray was named first-team all-conference, while Assuncao earned second-team accolades after helping lead Anderson to a 7-1 league record and the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. Murray posted an 11-4 singles record, including a stellar 7-1 mark in conference play and notched a 10-5 doubles' record. The sophomore from Zannes, France, won seven consecutive matches at one point during the 2010 campaign, all at the No. 1 slot. Assuncao went 11-6 on the singles' side, including an impressive 6-1 in Conference Carolinas' action. He was one of two Trojans to claim wins against both No. 14 Lander and 30th-ranked Lees-McRae.
