ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson's John Karle (2-2 overall, 1-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's tennis Player of the Week during week number two in the 2010 season as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon. The newcomer didn't show any freshman jitters as he posted a perfect 3-0 record on the week, including picking up Anderson's lone win at top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Armstrong Atlantic on Sunday. Playing his third match in three days, Karle defeated Victor Saez in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6. The Daniel Island, S.C. native helped lead the Trojans to a conference-opening, 7-2, win at Queens with a straight-set 6-4, 7-5 win past Bryce Boothby and followed up the next day by blanking Mars Hill's Zack High, 6-0, 6-0. For the year Karle is 3-0 overall and 1-0 in conference singles play.
