ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson men's tennis team made Senior Day a success by downing Barton in convincing fashion, 7-2, Saturday afternoon at the Max Grubbs Tennis Courts. Anderson (11-6, 7-1) clinched at least the second seed at the conference tournament with its third straight win, while the Bulldogs fell to 11-5 overall and 5-4 in league action. The Trojans gained an early 2-1 lead by winning the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles flights, then claimed five of six singles' matches, with senior Renato Assuncao winning his fifth consecutive singles' match and the Trojan tandem of Stephane Murray and Stan Atema claiming their fourth straight on the doubles side. The Trojans close out the regular season at Francis Marion on Wednesday before heading to the Conference Carolinas Tournament that begins on Friday, April 16.
