Murray Named Men's Tennis Player of the Week

ANDERSON, S.C. -- Anderson sophomore Stephane Murray has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's tennis Player of the Week during week number three in the 2010 season, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon. The native of Zannes, France, posted an overall record of 5-1 for the week, helping continue the Trojans' stellar start to the 2010 season. Murray notched an undefeated week on the singles side, while dropping just one hard-fought road match at Augusta State in doubles. He earned three wins in four days at the No. 1 slot and also collected two solid wins on the doubles' side. Murray's play at the No. 1 slot helped boost the Trojans' record to 4-2 on the season, with one of the setbacks coming at No. 1-ranked Armstrong Atlantic. Anderson will get back on the courts Thursday afternoon, when the Trojans begin a three-match homestand by playing host to Mount Olive.
