MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - Freshman Drew Toler scored two goals in the final five minutes, including the game-winner with 33 seconds remaining to lift Mount Olive to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Anderson in Conference Carolinas men's soccer Saturday at Ray and Chris Amon Field. The game-winner was the second in as many matches for Toler, who scored in the 82nd minute in the Trojans' 1-0 win at UNC Pembroke Wednesday. Mount Olive (5-6-0 overall, 1-3-0 Conference Carolinas) had an opportunity to take the first lead in the 35th minute after Anderson (3-7-0, 2-2-0) was called for a foul in the box. But Anderson goalkeeper Preston Freeman made a diving one-hand deflection on Adam Caston's penalty kick to keep the match scoreless at halftime. Anderson broke the deadlock at the 59:51 mark when Zach Denson recaptured a deflection of his own shot and scored from 18 yards out to make the score 1-0. Anderson nearly made it a two-goal game six minutes later after a Mount Olive foul led to a restart deep in the Trojan half. But Mount Olive goalkeeper Ryan McCrickard made a save on Paulo Passini's line shot from 25 yards out. Mount Olive got on the scoreboard late in the match when Anderson was unable to clear the ball out of its half. Both goalkeepers made plays to keep the match tied going into the final minute. Mount Olive's McCrickard made a save on a shot by Passini with 2:03 remaining. Anderson's Freeman came off his line to force Matt Wallin to push his shot just inches wide of the left post with 61 seconds left. The match appeared heading for overtime, but Mount Olive broke the tie with one last push. Adrian Daniels captured a loose ball and dribbled down the right sideline before crossing to Toler in the box. The ball was almost poked away, but Toler recaptured the ball and put home the game-winner at 89:27.
