Men’s Golf in Twelfth Place Following First Two Rounds of Southern Tide Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Paced by freshman Jake Miller's two-round 153, the Anderson University men's golf team is in 12th place following first and second-round action at the Southern Tide Intercollegiate, co-hosted by Coker and Limestone at the par 72, 6,952 Green Valley Country Club layout.

Limestone is atop the leaderboard by six strokes over both Barton and Queens, which share second place. Coker and Belmont Abbey are nine shots further back in a tie for fourth, while Clayton State and Montevallo are sixth and seventh, respectively.

Southern Wesleyan, King, Erskine A, North Greenville, Anderson and Erskine B round out the 13-team field.

Barton's Scott Pechacek leads the chase for individual medalist honors after carding a two-round 141 on Monday. Queens' John McFadyen is two shots behind the leader.

Miller shares 34th place heading into Tuesday's final round, while graduate student Weston Bell is in a tie for 52nd after posting a 159 on Monday. Sophomore David Monroe carded a two-round 163 and shares 62nd place, alongside senior Payton Whitlock, who also carded a 163. Sophomore Grayson Bell rounded out the Trojan contingent in a tie for 68th place after notching a 166.

The two-day, three-round event will conclude Tuesday.
