Men’s Golf Finishes Tied for Fourth at Queens Invitational

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – On a day that saw only 15 golfers improve their scores from Monday's opening round, Anderson's Forrest Fowler posted a 6-over-par 77 to lead the Anderson University men's golf team to a tie for fourth place Tuesday at the Queens University of Charlotte Collegiate Invitational.

The two-day tournament was held at the par-71, 7,099-yard Irish Creek Country Club.

Coker outdueled the host Royals for the top spot with a two-day 590, while
Queens closed the tourney in second with a 593. Duke (600) was seven shots further back, with the Trojans and Barton tied for fourth place after carding identical 606s. Pfeiffer (611) moved up one spot into sixth with Catawba claiming seventh after posting a 614.

Queens (B) (616), St. Andrews (619), Livingstone (641), Chowan (651) and Miles (655) rounded out the 12-team field.

Fowler slipped into a share of fourth place with a two-day 146, with Weston Bell carding a 154 and moving up three spots into a tie for 22nd. Sophomores Grayson Bell and David Monroe each posted 155s and shared 28th place. Freshman Jake Miller was steady with a two-day 156 and shared 33rd place.

Following a two-week layoff, the Trojans return to the links, Oct. 3-4, at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate.
