Men's Golf Team Receives Regional Bid

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Anderson University men's golf team has received a bid to the Atlantic/Southeast Super Regional May 5-7 at The Point Lake Golf Club in Mooresville, N.C. The Trojans will be one of eight teams in the Atlantic Regional. The other seven teams are Carolinas Conference champion and regional host Belmont Abbey, Barton, Coker, Fayetteville State, Presbyterian, Mount Olive, Pfeiffer, and Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association champion Virginia State. The eight teams in the Southeast Regional are Peach Belt Conference champion South Carolina-Aiken, Georgia College and State, Columbus State, Clayton State, Lander, Armstrong Atlantic State, South Atlantic Conference champion Newberry, and Carson-Newman. The first-place team in each regional and the next three teams regardless of regional will advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament May 14-17 at Houston, Tx. Anderson is led by Adam Sheriff, who was the medalist in the Conference Carolinas Tournament for his third top-four finish of the spring. Sheriff, a junior from Anderson, shot course-record 64 in the final round of the Lincoln Memorial Tournament last fall and a 66 in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament.
