Track and Field Sets Three New Personal Bests at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Small groups of the Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays, a big meet that included 150 teams from both NCAA Division I and II.

On Thursday, Philip Quillen (14:38.07) and Spain Vaughan (14:44.78) each set new personal bests in the 5000m. On Friday, Olivia Rish was the lone Trojan to compete, running the 1500m in a time of 4:41.41 for a new personal best. Whitney Hanson (2:19.01) ran the 800m on day three. The 4x400 relay team consisting of Lacey Boozer, Emma Deadwyler, Brianna Quartararo, and Olivia Rish came up one second short of a new school record by finishing in an impressive time of 3:57.59, finishing ahead of several Division I schools.

"Our main goal for the weekend was to chase fast times," said coach Kevin Eagle. "Even though it was not exactly what we were shooting for, we still were able to finish the weekend with some all-time personal bests while competing against the top schools in the country."

The Trojans will be back in action on Friday (Apr. 1) in High Point N.C. for the VertKlasse Meeting. Results can be found at www.autrojans.com.
