ANDERSON, S.C. – Spain Vaughan and Kamryn Osterbind of the Anderson University track and field teams have been named the Jimmy John's Male and Female Athletes of the Week.

The Anderson University men's lacrosse team is preparing to open the 2022 season at Spero Financial Field on Friday (Feb. 4) when they play host to Florida Southern.

Vaughan, a freshman from Greer, S.C., broke the mile school record by running a 4:13.38 and was also part of the Distance Medley Relay team that broke the school-record by 16 seconds. Spain ran a 4:12 mile as part of that relay.

Osterbind, a senior from Elkton, Md., broke the school record in the 400m by running a time of 59.01. This performance ranks her second in the SAC. Kamryn was also a member of the Distance Medley Relay team that broke the school record by 34 seconds while qualifying for the NCAA National Championships in March.

Each week, one male and one female student-athlete are honored as the Jimmy John's Athlete of the Week for his or her performance in competition, in the classroom, or in the community.
