Trojans Prepare for South Carolina Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams are preparing for the South Carolina Invitational, a two-day event (Jan. 28 - Jan. 29) in Columbia, S.C. hosted by the University of South Carolina.

Anderson is coming off a performance at the Gamecock Opener that saw several personal bests times get broken, along with a new school record in the 800m set by Whitney Hanson (2:15.16). That mark helped Hanson earn recognition as the South Atlantic Conference Astroturf Women's Track Athlete of the Week. For the men, Simeon Respress impressed in the field as he narrowly missed the high jump school record by three centimeters.

"This weekend is a big one for us as we will be competing against 50+ teams over the next two days," saod head coach Kevin Eagle. "After learning from our mistakes two weeks ago at USC, we hope that we can go out and perform to the best of our ability this weekend. It should be fun!"

The South Carolina Invitational is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, with live results available at www.autrojans.com
