HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Sophomore Courtney Czentnar ripped a two-out walk-off single in the first game, while freshman Cailah Niles was a perfect 5-for-5 with three home runs on the day, as Anderson defeated Lincoln Memorial, 3-2, and shut out Newberry, 7-0, in the South Atlantic Conference Softball Tournament, Saturday afternoon Byerly Park in Hartsville, S.C.

Sophomore hurler Lauren Rudesheim earned her fourth complete-game win in two days to help lead No. 2 seeded Anderson (39-12) to a Sunday afternoon showdown with third-seeded Catawba (28-15) for the tournament title. The Trojans will be looking for their second consecutive championship, while the Indians are searching for their first-ever SAC tournament crown. Catawba swept the Trojans in their regular-season doubleheader matchup earlier this month.

First-pitch versus the Indians is slated for 1 p.m., with the second matchup, if necessary, scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Game #1
Anderson 3, Lincoln Memorial 2

Czentnar drove in two runs in the win over the Lady 'Splitters, including the clutch game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh inning. A solo home run by Niles in the first inning and a solo homer by Czentnar in the second inning gave the Trojans a 2-0 lead, but following a lengthy two-hour weather delay, LMU tied the game in the top of the sixth on a solo home run by Megan Tice and an RBI-single by Jaclyn Cokeroft.

Niles led off the bottom of the seventh inning with her ninth double of the season by going the opposite way and moved to third when Chelsea Jones bounced out to the left side of the infield. Senior Bri Cason was hit by a pitch to put runners on the corners and two batters later, Czentnar struck again with the game-winning RBI-single to give the Trojans the 3-2 win.

Rudesheim picked up the complete game victory by limiting the Lady 'Splitters to two runs on five hits with three strikeouts and five walks.

LMU's Amanda Snow was tagged with the loss in relief. She gave up one run on three hits in 3 2/3 innings of work. Czentnar finished the opener by going 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI and a run scored. Niles was 2-for-2 with a homer, an RBI and two runs scored for Anderson.

Tice who was 1-for-3 with a home run, an RBI, and a run scored, led Lincoln Memorial, while Cokeroft was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Game #2
Anderson 7, Newberry 0

Niles was 3-for-3, with a walk and with two home runs in the second contest and 21 on the season, Niles trails former Lenoir-Rhyne standout Kat Rives by two for the conference record for homers in a single season. Jones was 3-for-4, with three singles, while junior Molly Child homered twice, scored a pair of runs and drove in three runs. Czentnar posted a two-run double in the fifth inning.

Rudesheim (18-6) captured her fifth shutout of the season by scattering six hits over the seven innings and striking out six, while not issuing any free passes.

Niles' first-inning home run with two outs gave Anderson a quick one-run advantage, with Child's two-run homer in the third inning boosting AU's advantage to 3-0.

The Trojans added three runs in the fifth inning on the strength of Niles' fourth home run in four games and Czentnar's two-out, two-run double to left field.

Child wrapped up the scoring with her eighth home run of the year - a solo shot over the left-field fence.
