ANDERSON, S.C. - Sophomore hurler Lauren Rudesheim tossed her second no-hitter in as many days and freshman Cailah Niles tied the single-season school record with her 17th home run, as the 22nd-ranked Anderson University softball team wrapped up its regular-season slate by blanking Coker, 10-0 and 13-0, in South Atlantic Conference play Saturday afternoon at Smethers Field.

Anderson improved to 35-11 overall and 16-6 in the South Atlantic Conference, while claiming the second seed in next week's conference tournament. The Trojans closed the regular season with six straight wins and claimed victories in eight of its last 10 decisions. Coker slipped to 23-24 overall and 9-11 in league action.

Game #1
Anderson 10, Coker 0 (5 innings)

Niles was 2-for-3 in the opener, while driving in three runs and scoring once. The freshman also recorded a two-run single in the second inning. Senior Jessica Neidigh was 1-for-2 with a two-run double and was also hit by a pitch, while crossing the plate twice.

Freshman Chelsea Jones improved to 14-4 in the circle on the strength of her eighth complete game and third shutout. She limited the Cobras to three hits, while striking out one and did not issue a free pass in five complete innings.

Niles opened the scoring with her two-out homer in the bottom of the first inning and the Trojans added five runs in the second frame. Neidigh's two-run double - her ninth of the season - and Niles' two-run single highlighted the offensive output.

The Trojans tacked on four more runs in the third inning to cap the scoring, while Jones retired the Cobras in order in both the fourth and fifth innings for the run-rule decision.

Game #2
Anderson 13, Coker 0 (5 innings)

Senior Rebecca Martin reached base all three times in the nightcap, while recording a pair of singles and a walk. The left fielder scored twice and drove in two runs. Freshman Rachael Barefield was 2-for-3 at the plate and equaled her career high with four RBI. Sophomore Courtney Czentnar added a two-run single and scored twice. Led by Jones' four walks in the nightcap, the Trojans posted 12 walks in the contest.

Rudesheim was just one walk away from recording the Trojans' second perfect game of the season, while retiring the first seven batters she faced. She earned her 14th complete game and fourth shutout of the campaign by striking out six Cobras and walking just the one batter.

The Trojan offense provided Rudesheim with more than enough runs by scoring five runs in the first inning - all with two outs. Czentnar and Barefield's back-to-back two-run singles with the bases loaded set the tone for the contest.

After a scoreless second inning, the Trojans added three runs in the third inning and put the game out of reach with five more runs in the fourth frame.

As the second seed, the Trojans will open the SAC Tournament versus the No. 7 seed - either Lincoln Memorial or Coker - at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday in Hartsville, S.C.
